Working predominantly in oil and acrylic, Melissa is drawn to the interplay of light, colour and atmosphere, capturing fleeting moments across the landscapes and cityscapes of the Wirral and wider North West.

From expansive coastal views and the shifting skies of Hilbre Island to atmospheric urban and industrial scenes, Melissa’s paintings transform familiar surroundings into expressive studies of light. Her work balances observational detail with a looser, painterly approach, allowing texture, colour and brushwork to convey the mood and energy of each scene.

At the heart of her practice is a fascination with light and perspective, how it changes a landscape, alters our perception of a familiar place, and creates a particular sense of atmosphere.
